Pretty miserable all day today and peering through the hedgerow Assisi appeared to be partially lost in the gloomy low clouds so we decided to postpone our trip until tomorrow when the weather is supposed to be better.

Instead we got on with some housekeeping things and after a lovely hot shower opted for jeggings instead of shorts for the first time since March!

Every time there was a gap in the rain we popped out for a little wander around and admired the array of different foliage around the site….
