Monday 20th October 2025 – Trevou-Treguignec….

A wet and wild one for us today, so we stayed put until early afternoon when the rain was coming in sporadic showers blown along the coast by 40-50 mph winds before venturing out – we did get wet several times but the wind did a grand job of drying us out!! Plage de Trestal looking equally stunning but very different today and being enjoyed by local surfers rather than Sunday amblers…

Next we walked or more accurately got blown along Plage de Royau – here we were treated to an amazing double rainbow….

And then along the pebbly coastal path (a bit tricky in the high winds) to Plage des Dunes….

The next section was very wild as the path covered the slightly higher ground above a very rocky shoreline to reach the slightly sheltered Plage de Rocher de Voleur…..

With a beautiful shrine on the rock at the end of the beach – loosely translated it means ‘Rock of the Thief’…..

Then came the small (though of course the tide is well on its way in) Plage de Rochanic….

And lastly just around the corner – Plage de Port Blanc….

The scenery was stunning when we were not trying to keep one foot in front of the other – the wind really is that strong….

The return journey was a little tedious as we tried to return by footpaths and roads inland rather than walk into the strong winds on the way back but the myriad of footpaths and minor roads seemed to meander up and down and roundabout forever always with the wind in our face (though not as strongly as on the coast) and a final downpour to ensure we were thoroughly soaked by the time we got back to the van – still we are on electric so the heating will soon dry us and warm us up – an exhilarating walk….

Thoughts of the day:

  • Either this is not a very popular park up (though I don’t understand why as it is only 50m from the fabulous Trestal Beach) or the amount of vanners out there travelling around is diminishing – time will tell
  • As per I appear to have underestimated the amount of time it would take to travel along the coast – though I had no fixed idea I did kind of assume that I would complete this west coast with time to spare – I know realise that is not going to happen – though my aim is to complete this coast on this trip.

Today’s stats:

  • Miles driven – 0
  • Miles walked – 7
  • Beaches – 5
  • Aire – £11.63
