Hillhead CAMC (6th-17th November 2017 – £10.50mw & £15we) – large very well kept site with lovely views and good facilities- shop and bar open through winter too. Dog walk on site but not many choices of dog walks from site , beach is a couple of miles away and everywhere is up hill on way back! However bus stops outside which opens up a much larger area. Too many families during summer as our door pool but would definitely visit again out if season.

Cofton Holidays (17th – 24th November 2017 £14.62 pn) – huge well laid out site, would feel a bit cramped when busy, lots of seasonal pitches, indoor and outdoor pool (extra), ship and choice of eateries. Brilliant woodland dog walk on site and country park next door, so great for dogs. Easy access on foot to Dawlish. Would return out of season only.

Stowford Farm Meadows (24th November – 12th December 2017 £21.50 pn – though paid considerably less as 8 nights free stay as bought caravan). Large site, good facilities, shop, bar, indoor pool (extra), caravan sales, repair and accessories on site. Excellent dog walk all around perimeter and acres of woodland trail (very muddy at time of visit) but no other walks from site. Expensive site for out of season stay. Ideally located for area hut you need a car.

Hidden Valley nr Ilfracombe (11th February – 19th March 2018 £14.50 pn) – largish site, just off main road so easy access, but a bit of road noise. Plenty of woodland area to enjoy, so good for dogs and children. Facilities ok but would be too few when fully occupied. A lot of seasonal units. Fab location for surrounding beach areas, good bus links too. No walks from site. Would stay again but only out of season.

Exebridge Lakeside CAMC (19th March – 1st April 2018 £14.34 (Easter) pn). Very nice medium sized site, level and good sized pitches. Facilities good and lakeside area for dog walking, otherwise not easy walking from site as you have to walk roadside to reach any other footpaths. Great for exploring Exmoor but I found it a bit too far from coast for my travels.
