A bit of rain during the night but after a grey start the day gradually got better, still a bit breezy but a nice sunny end to the day.
We drove to the little village of Ferryside, availed of their free car park and without any more fuss than crossing the railway line we were on the beach.
Miles and miles of sand, a little muddy in places as this is mostly a tidal inlet for the river Towy, but completely deserted, so Poppydog was free to run and run, chasing anything that fluttered and occasionally the ball.
Across the river we could see the outline of Llansteffan Castle and Scott’s Bay.
At the far end we could just make out the start of Pembrey beach, this north end is used by the military and not open to the public.
Not a beauty but a nice walk. We had a little wander around the village on our return, nothing much of note, but quite a pretty church.
Two thoughts of the day:
It seems that every village or at least town has its own castle here in Wales.
Now for a slice of M&S cheesecake….mmm!
