Mostly a grey day today with the sun just making an appearance as we got back to site, just after five – but hey at least it did!Today we are continuing our journey in a southerly direction around the delightful beaches of the Gower and parked up at the National Trust car park at Southgate. From there we wandered north up the coastal path with lovely sea views to the south and distant views of Oxwich Bay.
Then our first view of Pobbles Beach, with Three Cliffs Bay beyond and the rabbit warren of footpaths tracking the sand dunes on the way down to the beaches.
Well we loved Pobbles and stayed a while, Poppydog happily chasing stones and me? Well I was quite happy sitting, enjoying the peace or wandering along the beach just taking it all in.
We then wandered through the archway onto Three Cliffs Bay – much bigger but equally beautiful.
With the ruins of Pennard Castle a dramatic silhouette overlooking the beach.
Two thoughts of the day:
We are so being spoilt here on the Gower with the number of fabulous beaches.
There is something quite magical about making the first footsteps on a beach.
