Oxwich Bay from Oxwich Point to Great Tor….

The day looked a bit iffy at the start but started to brighten at lunchtime and then just got better! Today we are bound for Oxwich Bay and after a little bit of searching around, I conceded and paid £4 to park the car!!!!

And what a glorious beach! About two and half miles of sand dunes, white silky soft sand, little pockets of smooth ‘Poppydog’ pebbles, miles of firm sand and ripply refreshing sea, oh yes and a Poppydog watering hole (stream running down to the sea) half way along – what a pleasure!

The beach beyond the cafe and parking was lovely and quiet and the walk to Great Tor an absolute delight.

And of course we indulged in a bit of quality Poppydog time, chasing pebbles.

Before a leisurely paddle back in the shallows.

Two thoughts of the day:

Oh it is a quieter, quieter site – not a scooter in sight, shriek or bouncing ball to be heard!

Walking along a beach has got to be one of the most amazing things things in life.
